On 3-5 June, EUCCS Preparation was in Washington at the 5×5 – The Public Safety Innovation Summit
The 5X5 community is a vibrant mix of responders, researchers, and industry working towards a common goal: improving the ability of disaster responders to communicate, collaborate, cooperate, and simply do their jobs better in order to improve the lives of those they serve.
Katrina Petersen, PSCE Senior Researcher, took the floor to share with the 5×5 community what we are doing in EUCCSPrep on the other side of the Atlantic. It became readily evident that we have lessons and can learn lessons that can grow our joint knowledge and capacity as a whole.
Sessions were inspiring with insights on:
💠 when responder agencies are willing to take the risk of adopting a new technology
💠new testing practices to improve QoE and QoS,
💠unique lessons of working in disaster response in tribal communities
💠general challenges of the transition from radio to MCX broadband.
